Don’t like soft water I can’t get my soap off when showering?

Friends! We could never please everyone about the feel of soft water on your skin, however, if you give yourself 21-30 days of experimentation you would like it & most likely never will go back to hard water again. Just do us a favor: Tell us how soft you want your water to be & we simply adjust the hardness level.

Chlorination- Systems
Our most popular system for Iron & sulfer removal from private well water in Florida Is based on the principle of disinfection-sanitation with a biocide (chlorine) as a pre-treatment. In other words: water is injected with a weak solution of Chlorine solution ( usually ½ to 1 gallon of chlorine to 30 gallons of water) and then filtered thru the carbon tank and the water softener.

The whole system consists of 3 tanks:

  1. Solution tank with chemical feed pump
  2. 120 fiber glass never met retention tank ( Do not use Metal Tanks please)
  3. De-chlorinator, also called. automatic carbon tank

HOW IT WORKS
"Mixture" of 10% (sodium hypochlorite) chlorine (available at Pinch-a-Penny, Home Depot and Lowes) and the water solution is then poured into a 30 gallon solution tank.

A chemical feed pump Chlorinator is mounted on top of the solution tank.

When someone opens a faucet inside the house the chlorinator starts injecting the chlorine solution into a 120 gallon retention tank. Within about 20 to 30 minutes of contact time, the weak chlorine solution reacts with the iron, sulfur and organic contaminants that are present in the raw well water.

This is called Oxidation - flocculation. Simply put, the chlorine solution precipitates the iron and sulfur to the bottom of the 120 gallon retention tank. The drain located at bottom of the retention tank "must" & "should" be opened for 3-5 minutes every 3-4 weeks at a minimum. This permits all the sludge collected inside the tank to be blown out so the retention tank stays clean!

Now that we have killed the sulfur and iron, we now have created another problem. We still have chlorinated water in the tank. The lady of the house wouldn't appreciate chlorine in her hair or her eyes, right? So what we do, to eliminate this problem, is to follow up with an automatic taste and odor carbon tank. This tank contains grounded coconut shell mixed with corn husks that have been burned and activated with iodine. This carbon tank then back washes (cleans) the system every day at 2 A.M. to insure that your water stays clean.

We are now ready to send the water to service your home. A water softener can be added in addition to the carbon tank but it is entirely optional.
